What is Art Strings?

Art Strings is a collection of 7 imported violins transformed into beautiful works of art by seven of our finest local artists.

Owning A Masterpiece

These magnificent violins are not for sale.  To give every art lover a fair chance to own one, the Symphony Volunteer Council has chosen to award them by chance drawing.  A single chance drawing ticket cost only $5, seven tickets for $30, 15 tickets for $50, and 40 tickets for $100!  You specify the violin(s) of your choice.

Fill Out a Chance Drawing Ticket Order Form and mail with your check.  Whether you win or not, you'll be helping many gifted young musicians ages 12 through Senior High School.  All proceeds benefit the Lois Pickard Scholarship Fund.

Drawing will take place at the Final Note Party on May 12, 2007 at the Decorators' ShowHouse.

In 2004, the Symphony Volunteer Council added the Art Strings Project, a selection of violins painted by local artists, to raise funds for the Lois Pickard Scholarship Competition. The violins are showcased at many Volunteer Council and symphony events throughout the season. Although these magnificent violins are not for sale, the Symphony Volunteer Council has chosen to award them by chance drawing. Tickets may be purchased wherever the Art Strings Project is on display. All proceeds benefit the Lois Pickard Scholarship Fund. The violins will also be on view at this year’s Decorators’ ShowHouse where the drawing will take place May 12, 2007.
