Welcome

The Symphony Volunteer Council (SVC) of the Alabama Symphonic Association, Inc., with a membership of more than 300, is the largest volunteer organization supporting the Alabama Symphony Orchestra (ASO).  The SVC’s mission is to foster, promote, and advance the goals of the ASO through fundraising, assisting with the ASO’s educational programs, providing support for the administrative staff, hosting guest artists, as well as purchasing and selling tickets.

Each year the SVC sponsors a major fundraiser.  In the past, the annual Decorators’ ShowHouse has been the largest fundraising project for the SVC, with proceeds going toward the Alabama Symphony Endowment and the orchestra’s operating budget. The Decorators’ ShowHouse is an annual success and, over the past thirty two years, has enabled the SVC to donate over $4.5 million dollars to the Alabama Symphonic Association.

This year, the Council sponsored its second year of Parties of Note, a series of various themed parties hosted by members and friends of the Symphony Volunteer Council in their homes, art galleries, and places of business or other interesting venues.

For the past twelve years, the Council has sponsored a music competition for talented high school age young adults.  The competition is named in honor of the founding member of the volunteer organization of the Alabama Symphony.  The Council has awarded over $64,000 to winners in the various competition categories.

I encourage you to join this dedicated and ambitious group of music lovers, who share a passion for classical music and the continued long term success of our Alabama Symphony Orchestra.

There is something for every one.  You will be warmly welcomed.

Sincerely,

Nancy Morrow, President-Symphony Volunteer Council
